Autumn brewing recipe / by movingshades

with my Melitta EPOS!

Autumn has finally arrived in Berlin.
Its cold and windy outside! But that means cozy times on the couch, cookies on the table, Paulo Santo in the air and what else do we need to round up the coziness?

Right! A hot and delicious cup of black gold.

I’ve created a little brewing recipe with my Melitta EPOS

What you need:

  • Melitta Filter Paper

  • Melitta Epos

  • Coffee beans

  • Water

Step 1 fold / water

Fold the filter into a cone shape and rinse it inside the dripper with water to get rid of the paper flavor and to heat up the cup you are brewing into. Discard the rinse water.

Fill up the watertank ( for this recipe 4 cups)

Step 2 grind

Grind your beans depending on the strength you like. For two people I recommend 4 cups and strength 2. Put the filter under the grinder and let it grind.

Step 3 prew-brew / blooming

Usually I saturate the grounds with water right off the boil just to let it bloom for 15 seconds. For that you can use the pre brew function on the Melitta EPOS. Just press the buttom and it will “bloom” for a few seconds before the actual pour starts. Amazing feature btw!

Step 4 pour

The Melitta EPOS will do the rest. Just listen to the sound and watch the different patterns of the pour. There is also a warming pad underneath the machine – so it will keep your brew hot for up to 40mins.

Step 5 enjoy

Btw you’ll find this amazing machine here :

Little recycling tip: you can use the used coffee grounds for your plants!

Happy brewing!
